Skill Level 1 “trainer” aircraft are perfect for beginners and first-time RC (Radio Controlled) pilots because no prior experience is required to fly them! And after you learn to fly the T-28 Trojan 450mm successfully, you can move up to a larger and more capable trainer, like the AeroScout 1.1m or Carbon Cub 1.3m, or a “Skill Level 2 – Next Step After A Trainer” model.
This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) model includes a controller/transmitter equipped with 2.4GHz technology and everything else you need to fly, including AA batteries for the transmitter, two rechargeable lithium polymer batteries for the airplane, and a USB charger. That means there's nothing extra to buy or provide to fly, which also makes it an unbeatable value!
The T-28 Trojan 450mm arrives 100% factory-finished with a unique, fully painted, high-visibility trim scheme inspired by a full-scale T-28. It's also fully factory-assembled and ready to fly right out of the box. That means you can be flying in just the time it takes to charge the battery!
The unique “pop off” prop saver design, combined with construction from advanced EPP material, delivers a lightweight yet incredibly durable airframe that's tough enough to withstand everyday flying punishment without bending out of shape. A spare propeller is included, and in the unfortunate event you damage any airframe parts or components and can't repair them, a replacement airframe and spare parts are readily available.
Taxi over, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces using the included tricycle landing gear. Or leave the landing gear off to easily hand launch over, then land on grass or other suitable surfaces.
If this is your first RC airplane, the included SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology prevents overcontrol and crashes. It also offers multiple flight modes to deliver more control and capabilities at the flip of a switch as your skills progress:
In this flight mode, the airplane has pitch (up/down) and bank (left/right) angle limits that prevent overcontrol, which could lead to a loss of orientation and crashes. When the control sticks are released, the airplane automatically returns to level flight, allowing you to relax and enjoy simply 'steering' the airplane through the sky. Best of all, takeoffs are as simple as giving full throttle and letting the airplane fly off a suitable smooth surface, or by giving it a quick hand launch over surfaces such as grass. And landings are as easy as lowering the throttle and letting it glide to a landing on its own!
This flight mode allows greater pitch and bank freedom but still prevents significant overcontrol, and the airplane returns to level flight on its own more slowly than in the Beginner mode. This allows you to make tighter turns and to climb and descend faster as your skills advance.
In this flight mode, there are no pitch or bank angle limits, so you have complete control! You can even fly inverted (upside down) and perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, stall turns, and more.
The fun doesn't stop while you learn how to fly! Even if you're not ready to perform aerobatics on your own, the T-28 can automatically perform single or multiple loops or rolls in the Beginner and Intermediate flight modes with just a quick press of the “Aerobatics” button and by moving the control stick in the desired direction.
