Skill Level 2 – Next Step After a Trainer aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who have successfully learned to fly a trainer model and those with the skills to assemble, set up and fly similar class models. And although this is one of the best-handling and easiest to fly EDF models ever, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly a trainer model like the HobbyZone AeroScout 1.1m and Carbon Cub 1.3m, or models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m and other similar class models before attempting to fly the BNF Basic version Habu SS 50mm EDF.

They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!
Exclusive Technologies
The BNF Basic version Habu SS 50mm EDF is equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver that features exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. Enhanced AS3X+ works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence better than ever before to deliver an even more locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch! If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver normally, and only AS3X+ will be active.
Smart Technology
The Habu SS 50mm EDF is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR631+) and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly. It also features optional-use motor/thrust reversing to offer special ground handling and other capabilities!
Smart Transmitter File
This BNF aircraft is equipped with a receiver that is loaded with a Smart Transmitter File (STF) that makes programming your transmitter as easy as a few clicks of a button. When you bind your transmitter to an STF-equipped aircraft, all programming parameters download automatically from the receiver if you choose. Switch assignments, rates, expo, telemetry, and voice callouts configure themselves. No lengthy step-by-step instructions. No continual adjustments. Just push-button convenience that gets you flying faster.
Versatile Power
The factory-installed brushless power system features a 30-amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC plus an upgraded and specially-tuned motor that delivers plenty of thrust with 3S 1300–2200mAh LiPo batteries, or more speed and vertical performance with a 4S battery without the need for any modifications or upgrades.

Jets are typically faster and harder to fly than most of their prop-driven counterparts, which can make it difficult for low-time – and sometimes even experienced pilots – to fly them. The lightweight yet durable composite-reinforced EPO airframe – now including a thicker wing spar plus a spar in the horizontal stabilizer – is factory-finished in a high-contract trim scheme. And unlike other 50mm class models, it's equipped with a functional – and now also enlarged – rudder for added control and aerobatic capabilities.
Gear Options
The wide-stance tricycle landing gear with a steerable nose wheel offers great ground handling for easier takeoffs and landings on a wide variety of surfaces from paved or fabric runways to dirt and even short grass. Or you can leave the landing gear off for more speed and vertical performance plus easy hand launches and landings on grass.
Easy Assembly
The Habu SS 50mm EDF arrives mostly factory-assembled with the power system, servos plus the receiver (BNF Basic version only) installed. All you need to do is finish some quick and easy final assembly, without the use of glue or special tools, and you'll be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery!
